Late 19th Century German coin operated Polyphon, the movement with 2 combs, marked "D.R.G.M." and numbered "16308", enclosed in a walnut case with a "Schutz Marke" plaque to interior, carved shell and ball finial pediment, straight gadrooned cornice inscribed "Polyphon", both sides with coin slot and plaque "Drop a Penny in the slot", glazed arch panelled door with pierced scroll spandrels flanked by turned columns, retailer's plaque for Douglas & Co., 7 South Street, Finsbury, London, E.C., above a locking coin drawer, on turned and bracket feet, 130 x 69.3 x 39.7cm, with 14 discs, and associated literature, (working when catalogued).
